A Romantic Afternoon with Saint-Saëns
Croton Free Library
Romance is in the air, as Vent Nouveau offers a pre-Valentine’s Day concert featuring works for winds by Camille Saint-Saëns. The woodwind ensemble of Vent Nouveau – dedicated to highlighting a wide range of wonderful yet underperformed repertoire for winds – perform solo and duo pieces, and combine forces to present “Caprice sur des airs Danois et Russes.” The afternoon recital takes place at clarinetist Kristen Mather de Andrade’s hometown library – the Croton Free Library. In addition to Kristen Mather de Andrade (clarinet), the ensemble includes other principal instrumentalists with the West Point Band — Katrina Owens (flute) and Anna Pennington (oboe) – as well as Jeongeun Yom (piano), a member of the music faculty at Manhattanville College.
